Friends, It’s been a year since we started playing together as a live band, and longer than that since the first record, Visions and Revisions, was released. We’ve played a lot of fun shows, we’ve made a bunch of new friends, and perhaps most importantly we brought banjo man Doc Holliday back from the Wild West to be a permanent member of the Stereo Addicts. At long last, we are finally heading back into “the studio” to record our follow-up LP.
For those of you who’ve seen us perform lately, we’ve been playing a lot of new material and some of that will surely end up on the new record (though don’t be surprised if those songs sound completely different when you hear them next). And there’s many more songs in the works that we’ve never played for anyone and we’re excited to unveil those for you soon.
So if you don’t hear from us the next few weeks and months just know that we are working hard in basements, attics and bedrooms committing our songs and our sounds to tape (or hard drive, I should say) and getting back down to a little electronic voodoo. This next album is going to be quiet, crazy, beautiful, psychedelic, intense and soulful and I think you’re going to love it when you hear it.
Talk to you soon. Peace in the Middle West, Will

Much to our surprise, we learned today that we have been nominated as finalists for Pop/Rock Live Performer of the Year in the first ever Milwaukee Music Awards. This is, however, a “people’s choice” award, which means, if we are to win, we will need your votes…and your friends’ votes and your mom’s vote and your dad’s vote and everybody else’s vote too. Thanks for your support!

After a successful first run, the Midwestern Folk Rock Revival returns to Linneman’s, Milwaukee on Friday, September 14th, 2007 to again showcase the most unique and talented rock and folk groups the Midwest has to offer. This show will feature two more of our favorite bands:
Sleeping in the Aviary, Madison, Wisconsin’s favorite sons, will tone down their normally frenetic, punk-inspired sets to preview material from their forthcoming folk-rock album. Not to be missed!
The Northside O’Donnells (of Chicago) debut material off their brand new album, The Nameless Decade — a collection of Bowie-esque rock ‘n roll tunes set to a soundscape of synthesizers and electro-pop rhythms.
Believe us when we say, you’ve never heard folk-rock done like this before! It’s going to be a special night, we guarantee.

A Paper Cup Band (of Minneapolis) brings punky folk and stellar songwriting to the Revival.
Sunday Morning Chameleon is Chicago’s next great rock band. You’ll see!
Don’t miss this show! It’s sure to be one of the best nights of music in Milwaukee this summer!

After months in hiding, we’ve launched the new willphalen.com. And you found it! Nice work!
For starters, we have a basic site here for Will Phalen and the Stereo Addicts, specifically promoting the release of their new album, Visions and Revisions.
But as they always say: “more to come.” We’ll be adding to the site as the public demands it.
